The November Clark County Business-Activity Index declined by 0.26 percent when compared to October, but was up by 2.71 percent when compared to the same month in 2010. Recent declines were the result of a 7.7 percent decline in gaming revenues and a 2.0 percent drop in taxable sales, while employment posted a slight improvement of 0.3 percent. All three component series showed positive growth when compared to a year earlier. Gaming revenue was up by 7.8 percent, taxable sales by 8.6 percent, and employment by 1.8 percent. Business activity in Clark County is beginning to show signs of improvement over the previous year, but it is still susceptible to national and international uncertainties.
