Online access to most of these resources are restricted to the UNLV community under terms of licenses between database vendors and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, library system. (Consult Circulation Department regarding in-person access and borrowing policies.)

Databases of Economics and Policy Information
- EconLit. Indexes and abstracts academic economics journals. Does not provide journal articles themselves.
- NTIS (National Technical Information Service). Indexes and summarizes US government-sponsored research reports. Many may be available through local libraries, including the UNLV Government Publications collection; others must be purchased from NTIS.
- The US government's own Fedworld or NTIS web databases may be searched online without charge, but fees still apply for accessing particular documents.
- WebSPIRS (SilverPlatter's Information Retrieval System for the World Wide Web). Is a common gateway interface to search SilverPlatter Electronic Reference Library databases available over the Internet.

Databases of Business Information
- Business & Company Resource Center. Full-text and bibliographic information about industries, companies, and products from journalistic and trade publications, investment analysts, and directories. Information includes company histories and affiliations, brands, near-realtime financials, rankings, ratios, and industrial statistics. Searchable by name (company, personal, or journal), ticker symbol, NAICS/SIC class, subject, among others. Pages marked with a blue-ball icon can be bookmarked for repeated use; results will be automatically updated. Incorporates the same publisher's General Business File ASAP.
- TIP: if your search in Business and Company Resource Center produces only a citation to a periodical article, you might find the full-text, illustrated version of the article in Business Source Premier.
- FIS Online/ Company Data Direct. Fully searchable primary-source data on more than 10,000 NYSE, AMEX and Nasdaq exchange companies, including all SEC filings. Updated weekly. From the publisher of Moody's Manuals.
- Business Source Premier. Full-text access to more than 8,800 serials, including full text for more than 1,100 peer-reviewed business publications, covering management, economics, finance, accounting, marketing, and much more. This database contains full text from the world's top business journals and is particularly strong in both management and marketing. The database also includes country economic reports from the EIU, Global Insight, ICON Group and CountryWatch. The database also contains 10,000 detailed company profiles. (1965-current; updated daily).
- Articles in Hospitality and Tourism. Citations and abstracts to more than 35,000 articles in 200 journals.

Full-Text Electronic Journals in Economics and Business to which UNLV Subscribes
- SpringerLink-database. This multidisciplinary database has 1,450 journals. The best represented areas are life sciences, medicine, mathematics, computer science, technology, business and economics, social sciences, psychology, and philosophy.
- Economics journals available. Each journal homepage includes a search function, browseable table of contents, and general information about the journal.
- Business journals available. Each journal homepage includes a search function, browseable table of contents, and general information about the journal.
- Lists of all disciplines covered and of all journals, with links to disciplines
- Emerald/MCB Press Electronic Library. Includes titles in marketing, general management, human resources, quality, property, operations, production and economics, information management, training and education, as well as non-economics/business fields. Emphasizes British journals, so you should include British spelling in your searches.
- Project MUSE. Over 300 online journals, most associated with Johns Hopkins University Press, primarily in the humanities and history, but some dealing with politics and political economy.
- JSTOR ["Journal Storage"]. Provides full-text access to back issues of scholarly journals in major disciplines. Coverage dates vary but frequently coverage is from the first edition, possibly many decades ago, up to 3-5 years ago. Note: you must use a graphical browser (e.g., Netscape, Opera, Internet Explorer) with "cookies" enabled.
- OCLC Electronic Collections Online (ECO): bibliographic citations for articles in nearly 3,000 e-journals since 1996; includes links to full-text of e-journals to which UNLV Libraries subscribe.

Multipurpose/Interdisciplinary Databases

- OCLC "FirstSearch" databases -- the closest approximation yet of a global library catalog, since only a small portion of the world's recorded knowledge is physically located in Las Vegas. [View summaries of all FirstSearch databases.]
- GPO Catalog of US Government Publications. Principal way to discover federal government reports, documents, and other materials (print, CD-ROM, and online) that are available through US Government Depository Library Program -- underutilized resources applicable to many disciplines. "MOCAT" is also available through:
- CountryWatch. News and background information on government, economic, business, environmental, and other characteristics of nearly 200 countries. Updated every six months.
- Current Index to Statistics. Bibliographic citations to articles about statististics and the use of statistics in other fields, based on more than 100 "core journals" and 800 others.
- Statistical Universe. Electronic consolidation of the indexing and abstracting tools of these powerful print resources, with extensive full-text data online:
- American Statistics Index (ASI -- US government statistical publications),
- Statistical Reference Index (SRI -- state, business, university, and other statistical publications), and
- Index to International Statistics (IIS -- various international statistical sources)
Print or fiche versions of indexed/abstracted sources, whether online or not, may be available in the UNLV main library.
- EBSCO Academic Search Elite. Full-text articles in more than 1,250 journals (some as far back as 1990) and indexing and abtracting for nearly 2,900 (some to 1984). Includes company directory with option to buy summary Dun & Bradstreet Market Reports. Browser must have cookies enabled.
- SIRS Databases. Provides access to thousands of full-text articles from popular and academic periodicals and government documents. Researcher and Government Reporter databases can be searched concurrently or separately.
- UNCOVER. Search for bibliographic information on articles and tables of contents in 30,000 periodicals in many areas; find articles in local libraries or purchase copies through the site.
- Associations Unlimited. Searchable directory of 300,000 nonprofit membership associations worldwide, including trade associations and interest groups, with links to their websites and Internal Revenue Service data on tax-exempt groups. Provides enhanced content for more than 2,500 national associations in the US. Electronic counterpart of the familiar print Encyclopedia of Associations directory series.
- Digital Dissertations. Searchable indexing/abstracting of dissertations and theses from the Dissertation Abstracts people. Browser must have cookies enabled.
- ISI Web of Science. Powerful citation index for tracing who has cited whose work in scholarly publications; can search Science Citation Index and/or Social Science Citation Index.
- World Almanac. Familiar resource for quick verification of basic facts.
- Encyclopædia Britannica Online. Somewhat more direct than the ad-supported free site, www.britannica.com.
- Grolier Online (includes Grolier Multimedia Encylopedia and Encyclopedia Americana)
