Shawn McCoy

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, LIED CENTER FOR REAL ESTATE | ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR, UNLV LEE BUSINESS SCHOOL

Shawn McCoy serves as Director of the Lied Center for Real Estate and Associate Professor in UNLV’s Lee Business School, where he leads the center’s mission of preparing the next generation of commercial real estate professionals while advancing research that informs housing and economic policy across Nevada.

A nationally recognized expert in real estate economics and geographic information systems (GIS), McCoy is a Lincoln Institute Scholar with the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy and has advised governments and public agencies in more than 30 countries. His research has been featured by leading media outlets including The New York Times, The Washington Post, Reuters, Bloomberg CityLab, the Associated Press, and the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

McCoy has been appointed to several statewide housing and planning initiatives, including the Governor’s Task Force on Corporate Ownership of Residential Housing in Nevada and the Southern Nevada Strong 2050 Housing Task Group. His research continues to shape conversations around housing, growth, and the policies influencing Nevada’s evolving economy.

Andrew Woods

Prior to joining UNLV’s CBER, Andrew started and ran a successful economic analysis, financial management, and public affairs consulting firm, as CEO of Woods Strategies, in Las Vegas, Nevada. His expertise in applying data and research to strengthen organizations and communities has led him to hold many leadership positions both in the public and private sectors. He is known for his financial acumen, vision, reliability, and integrity.

Andrew has been involved in the public policy process on behalf of his clients and has a passion for data-driven solutions to complex problems. Andrew’s knowledge of and interest in a variety of diverse policy issues is why he is a regular contributor to journalism outlets such as Nevada Public Radio and the Las Vegas Sun.
